"Suicide Killers" - Islam is "Beautiful?"

On last night's "Daily Show," John Stewart hosted a French filmmaker named Pierre Rehov, whose recent creation "Suicide Killers" presents the views of would-be Muslim "bombers for God." Rehov made a point to state repeatedly that because he is French, he is sympathetic with the suicide killers. The absolute pathology of the individuals involved in this documentary is sickening enough, reflecting a psychotic indoctrination that can only be termed child abuse.

Adding insult to injury, however, Rehov repeated the disturbing and perilous platitude that it's not Islam but extremists who are the problem. Granted, extremists are a problem, but innocent Islam is not. Rehov went so far as to say that "Islam is a beautiful religion." In consideration of its history and all that we know about Islam, including widespread violence, torture and murder wherever it is found, we would really like to know exactly what is "beautiful" about Islam?

Apology to Pierre Rehov

Today's blog post implied that Pierre Rehov was sympathetic to the Muslim suicide bombers. In fact, what Mr. Rehov stated on the Daily Show was that the bombers themselves believed that the French are "100% on their side." Mr. Rehov himself has expressed "shock" at certain "pro-Arab French broadcasts."

I have corrected my blog to reflect this crucial difference. It is disturbing enough that the French in general are perceived as being "100%" on the side of the suicide bombers.

Reading Mr. Rehov's website, it is evident that he is appalled by the behavior of the extremists. I would still like to know what Mr. Rehov or anyone else finds "beautiful" within Islam, which repeatedly calls for the deaths of non-believers and which rewards people for psychotic behavior. In my studied opinion, it's the ideology itself that is responsible for this pathology.
