Objective:

The goal of this project is to develop a minimally invasive device that can be safely implanted in the motor cortex to provide recording interface front-ends for cortical prostheses and brain-computer interfaces. Our plan is innovative from engineering and scientific perspectives, yet conservative from a medical perspective. The technical foundation involves integrating neural probes, packages, electronics, and neurosurgical techniques to produce a prototype medical device, while also developing a solid scientific basis for progressive refinements.
