What does a war crimes indictee on the lam do in his spare time? Well if your name is Radovan Karadzic, you grow your beard, wear your hair bundled in a ponytail atop your head and become a doctor specialising in alternative medicine. And along the way he found – according to Serbian media – the love of his life, a mysterious dark-haired woman.

That’s quite a life journey for one man, to go from destroyer of a country, cities and entire ethnic groups, to bio-energy healer and lover. Evidently, Karadzic wasn’t bad at his new job – testimonials from some former patients claim he healed them.

Under the name of Dr Dragan David Dabic, Karadzic worked at a private clinic in Belgrade’s city centre. He openly lectured throughout Serbia – in Novi Sad, Smederevo, Kikinda and Sombor – and contributed to the magazine Zdrav Zivot (Healthy Life).

His last public lecture, advertised on the internet, took place on May 23 at Belgrade's popular Ada Ciganlija recreation area, and had as its subject "Nurturing Your Own Energies". Last December 10, he lectured on meditation at the Smederevo Cultural Centre. His internet site http://www.psy-help-energy.com advertised programmes to cure diabetes, sexual and fertility problems, asthma, arthritis and a host of other health issues. The website also sold metal spirals claimed to have healing powers and listed two mobile telephone numbers, both of which are now switched off.

Some sources allege that he received protection from the United States as a consequence of the Dayton Agreement.[20] Holbrooke however has repeatedly denied that such a deal was ever made.[21]

His supporters say he is no more guilty than any other war-time political leader. His ability to evade capture for over a decade made him a local hero among the Bosnian Serbs, despite an alleged deal with Richard Holbrooke.[22] During his time as fugitive he was helped by several people, including former CIA operative Bosko Radonjich and in 2001, hundreds of supporters demonstrated in support of Karadžić in his home town.

I rättssalen i Haag framträdde en stursk fd president, psykiatriker och poet. Hans karakteristiska stora vita hår, gropen i hakan och glasögonen långt nere på näsan, en man som var på rymmen i tio år och greps först 2008 på en buss i Belgrad.

Det tragikomiska var att han fick kunder som bevittnade hans botemedel. Det intressanta är förståss valet av bransch.

John Pilger skrev lite intressant om kriget där nere och om hur USA ändrade på fredsavtalet sista dagen då det skulle skrivas på. Tydligen så la dom till, vad John Pilger hävdar, ett omöjligt Appendix och dom sabbade fredsprocessen.

Det står skrivet i en av länkarna att han ordnat 'testimonials' för sin teori. Han var ju psykolog och politiker, så han kunde nog manipulera fram svaren.

Nä, sökte inte syndabock, konstanterade bara trådtrenden. :)

Ah, ja, det var nog det där avtalet som det stog om...
