American-Greek-Turkish OIL DEAL

I wrote before in the blog about an interesting ride in a taxi that I made earlier this year.(http://byfanenfrandalarna.wordpress.c ... llret-fran-aten-grekland/)

The taxi driver told me an interesting story how Greece would be offset from their major economical crisis.

He said that the US with alliance partners would claim the rights for the Oil in the Aegean sea (Greece and Turkish territory) to get rid of the huge debt which Greece currently have.

Regardless if he was right or not now today I found an interesting article from a Greek Business paper stating the very hot stuff as the following :

A new effort to restart the Greek-Turkish approach would be tested during the visit of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Athens.

The visit was set for 14 and 15 May. Erdogan accompanied by a team of 10 ministers of his government is to participate in the first session of the Supreme Council for Cooperation of the two countries. The two prime ministers will announce the establishment of the Board of Cooperation between Greece – Turkey. The establishment of this council to raise the strategic cooperation between our countries at all levels and can provide the basis for a fresh start in Greek-Turkish relations.

The meeting between the two prime ministers, may have very large agenda, but what we are dominating decisions on oil in the Aegean. After the great adventure that has entered Greece with the fiscal problems, and action (essentially) to the IMF, it is much easier to be accepted solutions stunts on the verge of “national consciousness of the Greeks.

According to press reports, the decisions have already been captured and is ready to schedule the task.
Thus, the exploitation of oil in the Aegean, will be made by American consortium* with the participation of Greek shipowners.
They have already bought 17 rigs.

The value of deposits in oil and gas estimated at $ 9,000,000,000,000, of which Greece and Turkey will share 40%, the holding company* gets the rest.
