Bandung. Twenty-one volcanoes across Indonesia could erupt at any time, leading to natural disasters, officials have warned.

An official from the Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation Agency (PVMBG) told the Jakarta Globe on Friday that the alert for 18 volcanoes had been raised from Level 1, or “normal,” to Level 2, or “beware.”

Hendrasto, the head of the PVMBG’s Volcano Observation Unit, said that three other volcanoes were on Level 3, or “standby,” just one step below full alert, or Level 4.

One of those three is Mount Sinabung in Karo district, North Sumatra, which began erupting on Aug. 29 after lying dormant for 400 years. Its last major eruption, on Sept. 7, spewed volcanic ash more than 5,000 meters into the atmosphere.

“We downgraded Sinabung from Level 4 to Level 3 on September 23,” Hendrasto said. “However, we still urge the public to remain alert for any danger.”

Jo, det pågår lite "bubblande" i vår jord. 21 vulkaner... Ta det i aspekten att vi har väl ca 35 pågående i hela världen ju... Så det skulle bli en markant ökning. Ta även i aspekt att Yellowstone ökat sin aktivitet markant sendan början på 2009. I september(27e tror jag) hade den skakningar som oroar forskarna.

Så nog bubblar det... Ska bli intressant hur Katla kommer bete sig under vinterhalvåret...

Det är relativt tydligt att jorden börjar bete sig som en "tryckkokare"...

Golfströmmen verkar ha sagt sitt. Den påverkar ju även jetströmmen över Norra halvklotet och vissa menar att det haft med den extrema torkan i Ryssland, i sommar, Likaså översvämningarna i Europa.

När jag nu går igenom nätet så ser jag att den första snön i Norge kom i Augusti ( en s50 Cm ) , Ryssland och Alperna likaså. En månad för tidigt. Även Storbritanien har haft sina första frostnätter.

Lørdag lavet snøen ned flere steder i fjellet på Østlandet. I Jotunheimen snør det fortsatt søndag morgen, og det selv om det fortsatt bare er august.

Forecasters say this winter could be the coldest Europe has seen in the last 1,000 years.

The change is reportedly connected with the speed of the Gulf Stream, which has shrunk in half in just the last couple of years. Polish scientists say that it means the stream will not be able to compensate for the cold from the Arctic winds. According to them, when the stream is completely stopped, a new Ice Age will begin in Europe.

So far, the results have been lower temperatures: for example, in Central Russia, they are a couple of degrees below the norm.

“Although the forecast for the next month is only 70 percent accurate, I find the cold winter scenario quite likely,” Vadim Zavodchenkov, a leading specialist at the Fobos weather center, told RT. “We will be able to judge with more certainty come November. As for last summer's heat, the statistical models that meteorologists use to draw up long-term forecasts aren't able to predict an anomaly like that.”
