On the topic of "magic mushrooms", how do you interpret the experiences of so many who have used these substances in "sacred" context and found the "Divine Within"? Would you say that there is a way to be with these substances which can actually catalyze an awakening experience of Oneness or Infinite Consciousness (such as David Icke's experience with Ayahuasca offered in a Shamanic setting)?


Stewart's Reply: I worked as a developmental specialist for many years in a mental health clinic. Many of the people in there had taken magic mushrooms and other related hallucinogens and never came back from the experience. Their brains were fried. I really question whether people who say they found the Divine Within really have done so or have they found their internal programmer or astral entity who claims to be the Divine?

Drew--thanks for the comments and info. Interesting bit about Al Gore, I didn't know he was influence by Avril Harriman to that degree. (American dumbocracy is always seemingly about the lesser of two evils though. Of course the office of the presidency is pretty much now the PR position for whichever corporate power bloc happens to be in ascendancy.) Plus I agree that transhumanism has a creepy vibe to it, as do some of these new agey shamanistic entheogen advocates. (Why is it every white man who trips out on ayahuasca these days develops a messiah complex? Daniel Pinchbeck, Graham Hancock, David Icke...) Also, good call on pointing out the links between theosophy, transhumanism, technocracy, and the nazis. (There's a book waiting to happen!)
