Iran, Israel, and the whole Middle East
is locked and loaded and ready to go

The game in the Middle East is running its final diplomatic course. Here is what I find intriguing and connected:

1. Israelis are making massive inspections and preparations of bomb shelter locations all over the country (haven't done this since the 6 Day War).

2. Putin has wrapped up his tour of the Caspian Sea countries with an agreement in hand that no attack on Iran will come from a country bordering the Caspian Sea.

3. The Israeli Prime Minister has just returned from Moscow where he met with Putin (all within 24 hours).

4. Turkey has ratified government approval for cross border incursions in Northern Iraq.

5. Kosovo is on the verge of civil war... again (this too is related to Middle East politics -- Islamic Extremists).

6. Condoleezza Rice has returned from the Midle East with nothing but dust in her hair and boot marks on the ass of her skirt.

7. President Bush is warning the world that if Iran gets the bomb, it will start WW3. This is a warning to Russia and China/N Korea to stop supporting Iran's nuclear ambitons.

8. Israel has made many, many incurasions throughout Lebanese airspace and other parts of Syria.

9. Advanced anti-missile batteries within Israel are now operational.

10. and, of course the US Navy/Air Force in the Mediterranean and in the Gulf is locked and loaded.

Oh yeah, and this has nothing to do with the Middle East, but North Georgia/Russia are about to go to war against South Georgia.

Your observations are always appreciated. Usually depressing, but always appreciated.

So where do you see things in, say, 2009? My gut sees about a 50/50 chance that the Middle East will be a smoldering ash heap and America will be under coast-to-coast lockdown -- but American Idol will still be a smash hit and Britney Spears will still be flashing her crotch.
