Brian Rossiter Crozier (born 4 August 1918) is an historian, strategist, and journalist. He founded the Institute for the Study of Conflict, a right-wing propaganda group, reported to have been set up by the CIA and British intelligence in 1970. He is a veteran of the cold war and has provided advice to the British Secret Intelligence Service, the Information Research Department, and the CIA. He wrote for Reuters and The Economist, was an editor for The Sunday Times and a commentator for the BBC. He wrote a column for National Review. Crozier was a Distinguished Visiting Fellow on War, Revolution, and Peace of Stanford University's Hoover Institution.

Crozier wrote extensively on counter insurgency and terrorism and along with other contemporary counter insurgency writers was an important influence on modern 'terrorism experts'. In 1959 whilst working at The Economist he wrote an article entitled ‘The Anatomy of Terrorism’ published in The Nation in which he described Terrorism as the first stage of resistance – the second being guerrilla warfare and the third all out war. In the article Crozier discussed anti-colonial struggles or ‘insurrections’ in Algeria, Vietnam, Malaya, Cyprus, Iran, Palestine and the Suez Canal. [29] In 1960 he published The Rebels, which explored similar themes. [30]

Crozier's understanding of what constitutes 'terrorism' was explicitly biased in favour of Western states then facing resistance from nationalist liberation movements in the former colonies.
As Alex Schmid and his co-authors have observed, Crozier's approach represents one of the crudest of the ‘actor based typologies’ in the field - i.e. where the identity of the actor rather than the act itself defines the designation of terrorism.

A myth was also concocted on how Serbian army invading Sarajevo, getting ready for an imminent destruction which was absolutely necessary to prevent, of Sarajevo being occupied and demolished by the Serbs. All this was a lie and I was personally one of the witnesses because I went to Sarajevo at the time and was received by a municipal president whom I joined for lunch. The city was split in two, a Bosnian Muslim zone and a Serbian zone. There was no siege; that was a pure lie which still remains ever since it was launched.

Then, there was Racak, claiming that Serbs committed a crime, which, again, was not true, but it served marvelously as a pretext to begin the bombardment.To go into action and bomb this unfortunate country, including its civilian population and to use depleted uranium without taking into account fatal consequences of such operations, in short, means to sacrifice the people.

Saudi money transfersIn the mid-1970s members of the Saudi royal family set up covert accounts at the Riggs Bank in Washington amounting to tens of millions of dollars; this money was used by the so-called "Safari Club" to run intelligence operations at a time when American intelligence was paralyzed by investigations in the aftermath of Watergate.[5]

A Saudi named Omar al-Bayoumi housed and opened bank accounts for two of the 9/11 hijackers. About two weeks after the assistance began, al-Bayoumi's wife began receiving monthly payments totaling tens of thousands of dollars from Princess Haifa bint Faisal, the wife of Saudi ambassador and Bush family confidant, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, through a Riggs bank account. [2] (Jonathan Bush, uncle of President George W. Bush, was an executive at Riggs Bank during this period.)

Upon discovery of these transactions, the FBI began investigating the bank for possible money-laundering and terrorist financing. Although the FBI and later the 9/11 Commission ultimately stated that the money was not intentionally being routed to fund terrorists, investigators were surprised to see how lax the safeguards at Riggs Bank were. Several Saudi accounts were discovered to have financial improprieties, including a lack of required background checks and a consistent failure to alert regulators to large transactions, in violation of federal banking laws.

Many of these transactions involved Prince Bandar personally, often transferring over $1 million at a time. According to British investigations on the Al Yamamah deal, reported by The Guardian, Bandar would have received over $ 1.5 billion in bribery from BAE Systems, laundered through the Riggs Bank.
