Narkolepsifallen fortsätter öka

Massvaccinationen mot svininfluensan
för tre år sedan ledde till att en
stor grupp barn och ungdomar drabbades
av den livslånga sjukdomen narkolepsi.

Än i dag fortsätter nya fall att komma
in och det finns nu drygt 700 fall
av narkolepsi inrapporterade till den
europeiska biverkningsdatabasen.
Nästan hälften av dem är svenskar.

Våren 2010 visade svenska och finska
studier att det fanns ett tydligt
samband mellan svininfluensavaccinet
och sjukdomen narkolepsi.

Barn och ungdomar som tagit Pandemrix-
sprutan visade sig ha betydligt högre
risk att drabbas av sjukdomen jämfört
med andra unga. Experterna trodde att
det bara var Sverige och Finland som
drabbats av denna ovanliga biverkan.
Då fanns ett 70-tal svenska fall.

På Läkemedelsverket menade man att det
inte skulle bli fler fall men sedan
dess har antalet fortsatt att öka.
I början av oktober hade det anmälts
totalt 257 fall av narkolepsi till de
svenska biverkningsdatabaserna.

SKL-chef tveksam till hela kampanjen

En av huvudpersonerna under massvacci-

Stiernstedt vid Sveriges Kommuner och

FN:s barnfond Unicef och Världshälso-
organisationen (WHO) avbryter alla
