Bara dagar efter att ha kallat honom en ”diktator utan val”, mötte president Donald Trump Ukrainas president Volodymyr Zelensky i Vita huset på fredagen. De diskuterade USA:s insatser för att få slut på kriget i Ukraina och det relaterade mineralavtalet — och hamnade sedan i ett gräl.
Enligt Trump finns det ett ”mycket rättvist avtal” på bordet, som skulle ge USA tillgång till Ukrainas sällsynta jordartsmetaller för AI- och militära tillämpningar. Trump sa att när mineralavtalet är klart, kommer kriget att vara över, och ”Ryssland kommer inte vilja återvända.”

Zelensky, som uppenbarligen inte är någon historiker, sa att Putin ”startade kriget” och ”måste betala”, medan Trump sa att han står ”mitt emellan” i kriget och tillade: ”Jag är för både Ukraina och Ryssland.”
