In the debate over vaccine safety, a larger issue is often overlooked: how vaccination campaigns undermine natural herd immunity and expose young people to significant risk. Immunologist Tetyana Obukhanych, who holds a PhD from Rockefeller University and has conducted research at Harvard Medical School and Stanford University School of Medicine, explains why unvaccinated children do not pose a danger to those around them.
Her reasons for beginning to question vaccination stem from personal experience. Despite being fully vaccinated against common childhood diseases, she still became ill. Having been indoctrinated into the belief that vaccine-induced immunity was equivalent to natural immunity, she nevertheless chose to re-examine the underlying science.
Tetyana Obukhanych is also the founder of the Physicians for Informed Consent foundation and the author of the e-book Vaccine Illusion, in which she argues that the debate over vaccine safety conceals a larger problem: how vaccination campaigns undermine natural herd immunity and place young people at considerable risk.
